The power of light to transform our experience of architecture and landscape is at the heart of the work of Laura Johnston Studios. Through the innovative application of glass, light and colour, the studio aims to bring inspiration and delight into the spaces we inhabit.
Laura Johnston established her practice in 1996 and since then has completed numerous large-scale projects across the UK. A collaborative approach links the studio with architects, engineers and a whole range of like-minded creative professionals.
In 1997 Laura Johnston completed the UK’s first practice-led PhD exploring the architectural application of coated glass. Driven by the belief that our physical environment has a direct impact on how we feel, research continues to inform her studio’s approach to working with glass, light and space.
