Christopher Morgan’s sculptures marry the aesthetic concerns of sculpture with poetic investigation. He addresses the anarchic ideas of post-modern design aesthetics, and the duality of some functional objects. He creates a political landscape that seems as much about the humour and poetry of modern design, as wider global concerns.
Morgan’s newer work has its origins in the contemplation and alteration of previously creative concepts. Forms of expression derived from pop art, minimalism and conceptual design form the basis of his exploration and the development of his own sculptural language.
As part of a wider audience development plan 36 Lime Street has recently developed a gallery space. A pilot programme of exhibitions and events, has been co-ordinated to run from May through to November 2009 which will encompass painting, sculpture, installation, drawing and three-dimensional design.
