For the forthcoming exhibition at 36 Lime Street David Orme will exhibit objects from an expanding body of work. Recent displays have included wall hangings collaged from a cache of stained fabric shapes, loosely draped or pinned to gallery walls in singular or multiple arrangements. Configurations are influenced by the gallery space in particular its newness; Orme utilises the transformative properties of the liminal installation period; during which time an assortment of peripatetic assemblages emerge from a process of continual revision.
David Orme’s works typically exhibit a latency allowing viewers to experience a body of work in flux. In these recent displays he continues to examines the disparate ways in which we individually/collectively encounter and comprehend liminality; notions of liminality (temporal; geographical; social; psychological) are alluded to by employing specific processes and materials.
