Brand Spanking New Work presents a series of works completed in the course of the last 6 months, including new paintings and studio works by Harry Watton. The show comprises work from initial concept drawings to finished paintings, which are presented as equally important factors in this investigative series of works.
The works concern themselves with traditional abstract painting issues and as well as attempting to disect itself in terms of its manner of execution. Harry’s work draws from visual references to both a contemporary, graphic visual experience as well as from a traditional painting aesthetic.
The work is presented as honestly as possible.
As part of a wider audience development plan 36 Lime Street has recently developed a gallery space. A pilot programme of exhibitions and events, has been co-ordinated to run from May through to November 2009 which will encompass painting, sculpture, installation, drawing and three-dimensional design.
