On the 27th of June, the national suicide prevention event Baton of Hope Tour will be arriving in Newcastle and continue its journey from Northumberland Park, through 10 stops reaching St James’ Park for the finale in the evening.
Ouseburn has been chosen as one of these stops, lighting up the area for a few hours with music, visual art, refreshments and speakers. To coincide with the Baton’s arrival, 36 Lime Street Gallery is host to an afternoon exhibition of artwork by NE community groups, artists and charities inspired by ‘hope’, with live performances by Steve Luck, before moving on to its next stop across the Millennium Bridge towards the Baltic.
