A warm welcome to our annual Open Studios showcase, featuring original high quality works of art and design from some of the best creative practitioners in the region.
Open Studios 2014 promises to be extra special at 36 Lime Street with a fundraising art raffle featuring covetable letterpress tickets hand-printed by Hole Editions with prizes including an original signed ink drawing by Turner Prize nominated artist George Shaw (go to www.holeeditions.co.uk). Our gallery is hosting a pop-up café, “Curly’s Kitchen”, serving hot drinks and cakes and an interactive photography exhibition “Depth of Field” which shows how members use photography within their practices.
Visit and buy original work from the studios of a range of professional artists and creative practitioners working in paint, glass, wood, ceramics, print, books, music, jewellery, words and more. Check our website for regular updates and surprises. Open from 10am until the later time of 6pm both days. Part of Ouseburn Open Studios www.ouseburnopenstudios.org

What’s on:
Theresa Easton | Level 2 Studio B
For open studios 2014 at 36 Lime Street Theresa Easton has collaborated with local Trench Art Collector Judy Sunter to present an insightful display of Trench Art made during or as a result of the First World War.
The display of hand crafted artillery shells, embroidered post cards and war ephemera will accompany an exhibition of unique prints inspired by Easton’s current Heritage Lottery Funded Mail Art project using Trench Art with young people from Hartlepool. Throughout the two days, visitors can have a go and make their own ‘Christmas in the Trenches’ Mail Art post card, ready to post to a Mail Artist in Europe.
