36 Lime Street is the oldest and largest studio group in the North East and has recently been granted charitable status. The building houses over 40 artists, makers and designers. This diverse mix of creative talent includes sculptors, painters, glass artists, jewellers, ceramicists, textile artists, furniture makers, visual artists, musicians, puppeteers, designers, photographers and more.

Their November Open Studios event was established in 1994 and has become a popular fixture of the cultural year in Newcastle upon Tyne. Housed in the historic John Dobson designed, Grade II listed building in the heart of the Ouseburn valley, the studio doors will be open to welcome visitors once again.

Come along and browse at your leisure. Meet the artists and have a nosey round the studios, buy existing work or commission something new, take part in workshops, enjoy demonstrations and live music.  You will be sure to find some unique Christmas gifts. You might even win some of the amazing artwork in the legendary Lime Street Raffle – each ticket is a limited edition print.  With more than 28 makers taking part, there is something for everyone and best of all, entry is free.
