Before I Knew You (2013), oil on linen, 230x180cm

I am primarily a painter. For me painting is a transformative process allowing me to navigate the space between the potency and potential of the subject matter and the stuff of paint itself as a tangible substance. More specifically I am interested in manipulating the meaning of found anonymous snapshots of strangers, using painting as a method for unravelling and exploring the latent humour, pathos and psychological complexity of these objects.

I have shown extensively in group and solo exhibitions across the UK and overseas and my work is owned by numerous public and private art collections.
