“I’m very interested in the ways we communicate with each other”

Much of Stobbart’s pre-pandemic work explored the role of non-verbal interpersonal communication within social situations.  Her current project (2024/25) examines fragments of mobile phone conversations overheard in public settings.

Stobbart has had major national and international rejections, including British School Rome Connect Fellowship (2022), Hatton Call, Hatton Gallery (2020), Artangel Open (2013), Daiwa Foundation Art Prize (2012), Jerwood Drawing Prize (2011), SPILL National Platform, London (2011), Bristol Live Open Platform, Arnolfini Gallery (2010), International Streaming Festival, The Hague (2010), New Contemporaries, London (2009), Madrid Abierto (2008), Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2008) and Saatchi Gallery, London (2008).
