Home is…An Ode to Digrawan Road is the first solo exhibition of Gulmehar Jilani. Inspired by her paternal ancestral home in Faisalabad, Pakistan it encompasses film, sculpture, writing and photographs. ‘The body of work reflects the importance and at times pivotal role that my paternal ancestral house has had on the lives of everyone that has lived through it. The house is not just a place of habitation but a site of memory, archive/record and a space that has encompassed four generations of the Jilani family. From its conception of 3 rooms to spanning 3 floors, the house is also a reflection of the gradual growth of my family in terms of people and their socio-economic standing. Everything in the exhibition is inspired by the physical structure and symbol that this house holds. It is an ode to the many lives and stories the house has witnessed and helped create.’

The gallery space continues to provide a platform as 36.
