Sara Jane’s work draws from ideas of the human condition, the individual in society, societal interaction, and internal thought processes. She draws on issues of heredity, the nature of the body, dreams, and the journey through life. See The birth of an idea.
Her pieces emanate from a story, an idea, a reason, a need to exist. Increasingly, she is incorporating the use of music in her work as it frequently accompanies her making process, and its rhythms permeate life. Likewise, her lifelong interest in textiles is creeping into aspects of her practice.
