(Un)-cut; Altered Book Case
Theresa Easton trained in Printmaking at the University of East London and completed an MA in Glass at Sunderland University. Central to Easton’s creative practice is the role of printmaking. Easton enjoys working in cross art forms, combining her knowledge of printmaking with a wide range of materials including brick clay, glass and ceramics.
Easton works as an Artist Educator with BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and delivers regular print and bookmaking workshops to the public from her studio. These workshops introduce participants to simple printmaking techniques that are transformed into a range of traditional and innovative ‘artist’s books’. Artist’s Books provide a platform for Easton’s printmaking skills and the opportunity to work nationally and internationally. Projects include organising BALTIC Artists’ Book Fair, The Sunderland Book Project, exhibiting at Pyramid Atlantic Book Arts Fair and commissioned work for Dear Angel at Newcastle’s Globe Gallery.
